FAQ

Expert Car Detailing Insights

  • What services do you offer?
We specialize in full-service auto detailing, including exterior washes, paint correction, ceramic coating, interior deep cleaning, engine bay detailing, headlight restoration, and more. We offer packages for every budget and vehicle type.
  • How long does a detailing service take?
The duration depends on the service and the condition of your vehicle. A basic detail might take 1–2 hours, while full interior/exterior packages or ceramic coatings can take 4–8 hours or longer. We’ll give you a time estimate when you book.
  • What’s the difference between a car wash and auto detailing?
A car wash is a quick surface clean. Detailing is a deep cleaning and reconditioning of your vehicle inside and out—restoring shine, removing contaminants, and protecting your investment long-term.
  • Do you offer mobile detailing?
Currently, we offer in-shop detailing only. However, we’re exploring mobile services for the future. Stay tuned or sign up for updates!
  • What is paint correction?
Paint correction is the process of removing imperfections in your vehicle’s clear coat—like swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation—to restore a deep, mirror-like shine. It’s often done before applying ceramic coatings.
  • Will detailing remove all stains and scratches?
While we can remove most stains, odors, and minor scratches, some severe damage may not be completely reversible. We’ll assess your vehicle first and discuss realistic expectations.
  • How long does ceramic coating last?
Depending on the product and care, ceramic coatings can last from 1 to 5 years or more. We use high-quality coatings and offer warranty options. Regular maintenance will help maximize longevity.
  • Is detailing safe for all vehicle types?
Yes, we service all types of vehicles—cars, trucks, SUVs and classics. We use vehicle-safe, high-quality products to ensure your ride is treated with care.
  • How often should I get my car detailed?
For most vehicles, we recommend a full detail every 4–6 months, with regular washes or maintenance details in between to keep your car looking its best.
  • Can I reschedule my appointment?
Yes, you can reschedule your appointment up to 24 hours in advance without any charges. Rescheduling within 24 hours of the appointment may incur a fee.
  • Why is detailing a car so expensive?
Detailing a car involves a thorough cleaning and reconditioning of both the interior and exterior of the vehicle. This process requires specialized tools, high-quality products, and a significant amount of time and expertise to achieve the best results. The cost reflects the level of detail and care that goes into making your car look its best.
  • What payment methods do you accept?
We accept various payment methods including cash, credit cards, debit cards, and online payment platforms such as e-transfer.
  • Why is there an additional cost for removing pet hair?
Removing pet hair from a car's interior is a labor-intensive process that requires special tools and techniques. Pet hair can become deeply embedded in the upholstery and carpets, making it difficult to remove. The additional cost covers the extra time and effort needed to ensure that all pet hair is thoroughly removed, leaving your car clean and fresh.
  • Q: What is the difference between a paint correction and a paint touchup?
A: At Tinney's Auto Spa, we offer only paint correction. Paint correction involves a detailed process of removing imperfections such as swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, and other surface defects from the vehicle's paint. This is achieved through machine polishing using various cutting compounds and polishes, which restores the paint to a like-new condition, enhancing its gloss and depth. On the other hand, paint touchup is a focused and manual process aimed at addressing specific, localized damage such as small chips, minor scratches, and imperfections. This involves applying matching paint to the damaged areas to make the blemishes less noticeable and protect the exposed metal surface from rust and further damage. While paint correction revitalizes the entire painted surface of your vehicle, paint touchup is ideal for addressing minor isolated issues. Both services are key to maintaining the aesthetic and protective qualities of your vehicle's paint, but the choice between them depends on the extent and nature of the damage. At Tinney's Auto Spa, our experts can help you determine which service is best suited for your car's needs.
